Volunteer Opportunity
When Historic Madison, Inc. bought the McVicar/Stein/Wollen negatives and photographs of Madison and donated them to the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) in 1999, Ann Waidelich organized a group of about eight volunteers who have been working every Wednesday morning at the WHS building on campus to catalog the images into WHS's electronic Image Management System. They finished that project in 2009 and were asked to tackle the Arthur Vinje collection of negatives he created while working as a photographer for the Wisconsin State Journal. And so the effort to catalog Madison photographs continues.
