Perhaps the purest homage to the powerful symbolism of the Capitol and its dome was the Capital City Bank on King Street, built in 1930. Although the firm had been existence since 1883, it closed in 1931 as a result of the Depression. Minus the dome, the building still stands next to the Majestic Theater. Today it is the office of the Isthmus newspaper. SHSW WHi(X3)36028
