A recent ad for the Edgewater Hotel on Wisconsin Avenue demonstrates that proximity to the Capitol is still important to hotel guests and, presumably to hotel managers. The Edgewater was originally built about 1945 by the Quisling Family as an apartment building. The architect was Lawrence Monberg. By 1950 the Art Moderne building had been converted into a hotel. The addition at left was completed in 1972.
