The Loraine Hotel on West Washington Avenue, during the 1920s. Across the street are the Grace Episcopal Church, which refused to sell its building to the Schroeder Hotel chain, and the First Congregational Church, which relocated in 1930. Today, the Loraine Hotel, which was once the chief convention hotel in town, houses state offices. SHSW Album 6.67
